Using your own domain name on WordPress.com

  I am thinking of having a WordPress.com site with my own domain name. If I do so, do I have to buy the domain name off WordPress? How much does it cost if I do this? Can I register the domain with someone other company, and then point it to WordPress.com? How much does this cost – how much do I have to pay WordPress.com for using my own domain name (registered with some other company)?

  If I use my own domain name on WordPress.com (not WordPress.org), do I have to pay for my own hosting? Or can I use the free one that WordPress.com provides?

  (I know that you have to provide your own domain name and hosting if you have a WordPress.org account.)
