UTF-8 issues Emails all garbled

I have UTF-8 chosen but when I run my blog through Feedburner and someone subscribes, they get and email with encoding all screwed up like this:
Alright! Your new pond is up and running. [UTF-8?]You’ve checked for leaks.
How do I fix this? Any thoughts?

Then you’re in the wrong forum. I thought you might be. Independent WP works a bit differently from WP.com, so we won’t be able to help you. You can find support at WordPress.org, though.
