Utterly Confused – Domain Mapping
-
Hello,
I have a WordPress.com blog, but I am wanting to transfer it over to WordPress.org. I have purchased hosting, a domain name and have WordPress installed in my root directory. I have bought domain mapping, thinking that this would redirect visitors to my wordpress.org blog. It worked for all of 10 minutes, and now TheHealthyAdvocate.com is going back to my wordpress.com site!
What am I doing wrong? Do I even need domain mapping? Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Brandon

Did you follow the directions in this support document?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/redirect-trick/
This is a trick that can be used with the domain mapping upgrade to redirect a blog here to your new site.
WordPress also introduced a new offsite redirect upgrade that does the same thing only much easier.
