Valid comments being sent to spam

A couple of my loyal readers and frequent commenters have suddenly started being sent to spam. I search them out in the spam folder, mark them as “Not Spam” and then approve the comment, but it’s laborious.
Is there any way to “whitelist” a commenter so they never get sent to spam?

How frequent? And do they comment elsewhere frequently?
They may be triggering the filter themselves, and while you’re digging them out, others may be flagging them.

The answer is no. Keep pulling them out and marking them not spam and Akismet will learn. -
It’s possible that you may be blocking them by accident, due to the Scunthorpe problem. Review all the words and names you’ve blacklisted. Some piece of a good guy’s name (or email address) may be on your blacklist.
