Validating readability.com publisher account in header

    Hello, all! I hope someone can help with this…

    I recently set up a publisher account at readability.com and it need to enter code into the header of my index page for validation. The validation code is:

    <meta name="readability-verification" content="mFjPUMzVxNxNC8dc35WbCXmTwGyJXYsMM2PFLzK9"/>

    I’m guessing there’s a way to do this in the custom CSS (which I have; I’m using the Bold Life theme), I just have no idea where.

    Any help would be great. Thanks!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I’m sorry but it’s not possibl;e to insert any metadata into our free hosted WordPress.com blogs. That can only be down on self hosted WordPress.org installs.
    WordPress.com vs WordPress.org: The Differences

    CSS editing cannot be used to achive this. There is no upgarde that you can purchase that will enable this on a free hosted WordPress.com blog.

    WordPress.com blogs are all on the same multiuser blogging platform. Every blog wearing the same theme is using the same template. We bloggers cannot edit templates or themes; only Staff can as every edit they make affects every blog wearing the same theme.

    Hmmm… that’s disappointing, especially for those of us who are paying for extra features. Thanks, anyhow!

    I’m sorry I had to be the bearer of bad tidings. I also pay for upgrades but I was fully aware of what can or cannot be done on free hosted WordPress.com blogs and what can be done on self hosted WordPress.org installs before I purchased upgrades. Thanks for not shooting the messanger and best wishes with your blog.

    Oh, I knew (I moved from a self-hosted to here, and I still have my personal blog running self-hosted, so I can compare relatively easily).

    I just figured CSS had a bit more “oomph” to it. I know HTML… CSS is something I have yet to find the time to really play with and learn what it can/can’t do.

    And, no, no need to shoot the messenger. I’ll just glare in the genral direction of the WP corporate offices. :)

    Hi again,
    My advice it to carefully read what’s at this link before you tackle any CSS editing > http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions
    The custom design upgrade will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but will not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. It does not allow you to remove footer links to the theme designer or to WordPress.com. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes at WordPress.COM. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css/

    Not to worry… I’m already in the midst of setting up a new hosting provider and will migrate off of wordpress.com. It’s too bad – I’ve been happy with the vast majority of the experience. But, I need flexibility for my readers, so this isn’t going to work.

    Que cera cera.

    @galfridus73
    Well it’s good thing you asked about the upgrade prior to making the purchase. Best wishes to you. :)
