Validator for Czech language.
-
Hello staff,
I would like to become validator for Czech language. I am teacher at elementary school in Czech republic and I use WordPress.com for many years. Recently I saw many translated but not approved strings here at WordPress.com. I would like to help with translation into my language.Best regrards,
Pavel Vondra. -
Hello staff,
WordPress.com is without translation to czech language for many years. I know about pavelap group, that makes translation of WordPress.org, but WordPress.com interface is permanently more English than Czech. -
Hi there! We’d love to have you as one of our validators! However, a colleague of mine reviewed some of your translations and found that a number of them needed to be improved. For example:
For this one, “Remove WordPress.com Ads” is translated to “Odstraněné reklamy WordPress.com”, which, if translated back to English, means “Removed WordPress.com Ads”, which is in the past tense.
“Get your own WordPress.com account in seconds”
“Získejte vlastní účet na WordPress.com v několik vteřinách” (your translation)
A better translation for this would be:
“Získejte vlastní účet na WordPress.com během několika vteřin”
“Looking to upgrade?”
“Hledáte upgrade?” (your translation)
The feedback is this was translated too literally. The string’s meaning is more in the lines of “Are you thinking about upgrading?” rather than “Searching for upgrade?”
Please don’t be discourage at all, though! Try to go back and improve your translations, and reply to this topic again so we can take another look.
Thank you so much and best wishes!

Hi staff,
a looked at my strings and I found some mistakes and typing errors. I tried to correct it.Only the second example isn’t mistake for me.
There was typing error.
“Získejte vlastní účet na WordPress.com v několik vteřinách” wasn’t correct.
But translation “Získejte vlastní účet na WordPress.com v několika vteřinách” is the same as “Získejte vlastní účet během několika vteřin”. Both translation are correct in Czech language.Your job is about protecting quality and I recognize it. I tried to do my “job” as exactly as I can.
Thanks.

Hi staff,
I would like to finish my question. I offer my help with WordPress.com translation into Czech language to your company and I tried to correct my strings.…If it is possible to become a validator, I will be happy.
…If it isn’t good idea (I do mamy mistakes, I translate strings differently from WordPress.org translator, etc.) Can you write a message to other Czech validators, about validating strings at http://translate.wordpress.com? Their translation is based on WordPress.org and it covers only WP Admin (Dashboard, etc. ).
Thank you for your help.

Hi staff
I suggest to appoint digrizak as the validator for Czech language, if nobody else does this job.
Maybe not all translations are quite perfect (they can be always improved later), but the recent mix of Czech and English texts is absolutely frustrating for both writers and readers, because even the most basic phrases like ‘Continue reading’ are not yet translated.
And even more frustrating is to wait for translation approval weeks and months…
Many thanks

Hi @digrizak, @jiribednar2013!
Sorry for the late reply. I’ll let my colleague review @jiribednar2013’s corrections and let you know how it goes. In the meantime I’ll also find someone from the .org community who may be able to help out.
Cheers!

Hello, please is it possible to translate these things? It sounds strange for Czech visitors, when they see this:
Posted by (my page name) on SRPEN 29, 2016
There could by something like “Publikováno stránkou” (my page name)
And maybe delete “ON” SRPEN 29, 2016
Or maybe there could be word “Kdy”Or something like that. It sounds like rubish when there is something half English and half Czech. Thank you for any reply or help. :-)

Koukal jsem na http://translate.wordpress.com a Posted by je zrovna přeloženo a někým schváleno. Dokonce 2x jinak: “Zasláno autorem” a “Zaslal”

Hello there @optimistikon!
I assume you need help with the Dyad theme. Based on a colleague’s suggestion, how does this sound:
Publikoval (my name) dne SRPEN 29, 2016
I already added the above translations to these strings:
Published by
on
However, for you to see the Czech translations live on your site, the theme has to be at least 85% translated. Could you please help us get it up to 85%, and I’ll find someone to approve them? There’s only 9 strings left untranslated, so it shouldn’t take too much of your time:
Thank you!

Good evening!
Thank you to all for your advises.
Druesome:
This sounds good. “Publikoval (my name) dne SRPEN 29, 2016” :-) Thank you.Digrizak: Díky moc. Jsme trochu amatérka, tak nevím, jak moc rozumím, ale ještě se pokusím zorientovat. A pak případně dám ještě vědět. Díky. :-)

Jaká je tvá šablona. Pošlu ti odkaz na stránku s překladem a můžeš tam navrhnout překlad několika výrazů.
