Vanishing Sticky Posts

i have had my nice revolving sticky posts, but recently decided to update one of the posts with some added content. why did my sticky post get removed simply because i updated it? i have tried refreshing and have followed all of the instructions, but for some reason, it’s removed!??? i want to go in and update the content in the other ones, but will wait for a response bc i don’t want them all to go away!

After looking into your account, I found that the most recently modified post is:

Is this the post you are referring to? I found that this was not labeled as a sticky post. You can do it by editing it and going to the Publish module. Edit the Visibility and just make sure the box next to: Stick this post to the front page is checked!
I tested this out on my blog and found that when I updated a sticky post, it was not reverted to a normal post. If this happens again, can you please let me know! I’d be more than happy to look into this for you!

nope. not that post. if you go to my posts and click “sticky” posts, you’ll see it. there are 5 sticky posts that usually scroll but now there are 4, not sure why, all i did was update one of the posts and now it’s gone. i want to update the rest but i don’t want to loose them all.
this was the post i updated that doesn’t now show up.

Thank you for the clarification! I found that the featured image you set for the post: “Terra showed me that reality can be even more exciting than the dream.” is too small.
For the sticky post to appear in the slider the Featured Image must be at least 888 pixels wide. Currently, it is only 560 pixels wide. You can find more information about this here.
I tested this out on my blog and found that to be the case. Use a larger image and it should reappear in the slider!

That makes sense! Thanks so much. One more Q: What is the exact size they want for the pic? I’ll size it to be the size that fits. I have put in bigger pics but then it gets cut off bc it’s a narrower size.

Try exactly 888 pixels wide. Let me know if that works. If not, let me know exactly which image it is in your Media Library and I’ll see what I can do!

Ok thanks. I see the width but what is the hieght? I would like both dimensions. As a work around (since I don’t have photoshop or anything like that) I am going to edit the size of the photo before uploading but would like to enter in the exact dimensions and try that!

There isn’t a limit on the height, so I don’t know what number to provide you. Can you upload the image you want to your Media Library and let me know?

Oh thank you Grace. I will upload it and will tell you when its in there. I wanted to put a border on it, so that’s why I wanted to know the dimensions bc otherwise it cuts off the picture. I’ll ping you back when it’s in there. Thank you!

Hi there,
After looking into the StickyPost1 image, I found that it is only 800 px wide. Please make it at least 888 px wide, and it will show up. Currently, it is still too small. Once it is there the image should show up and it shouldn’t cut off the image. I tested this out on my account. :)
