Varia Theme Yoast Breadcrumb

Add topic to favorites
There are various instructions for Yoast Breadcrumbs which say to add code to the CSS writing of the Theme in order to enable Yoast breadcrumbs. However, when I try to write in the code it never stays there. Whether I am in Appearance>Theme Editor OR Appearance>Edit CSS, the breadcrumb code that I add does not stay.

I recommend creating a child theme of the theme you’re using and then apply those changes. Here’s the guide on how to do that:

I actually had the child theme of Varia to start with and it was equally impossible to insert the breadcrumbs. The page on breadcrumbs recommended against child themes, so I changed to the parent theme Varia to help with the breadcrumbs, and it’s still not better.

Oh ok I see that you are saying to create a custom child theme that I would have more editing abilities over. Ok I will try that. I have one question first, the Yoast instructions say to not use the code in non-WooThemes. I cannot find anywhere what a WooTheme even is. Are any of the WordPress themes WooThemes?

Hi @vanderhosenlingerie, while I’m not positive whether Varia counts as a wootheme with that support built in, have you tried reaching out here?
