various site issues
-
I have got so far. Now I am confused.
1) I cannot find a preview button to see what the public will see.
2) I can only view my site as individual pages; not as a whole
3) How can I display pages in my order of preference
4) I have a list of pages at the bottom of page1 (prefer them at the top)
how will these become live when someone wants to look at a specific pageI do not want to go live until I know everything is my site is operating as it should

Hi Stephen, you should be able to view the site by clicking on the link you’ve shared here: stephenrandonusphotographicart.wordpress.com
And it sounds like you just need a custom menu to tie them all together? Normally, you’d create menus like so:
https://wordpress.com/support/menus/You happened to choose a theme that does not have a built-in menu, but you can add one with the full site editor. I’ve given your account that capability. Let us know if you would rather just switch themes instead.
To add a menu, go here:
https://wordpress.com/site-editor/stephenrandonusphotographicart.wordpress.comClick on the “List View” icon — it’s at the top of your editor, the last option on the right side. From there, you’ll see a list of all of the different parts that make up your web page. Look for the one called “Navigation” and click that.
From there, look at the navigation area on the right side of the screen. You can add an existing menu, or you can just add links as you’d like.
Want to give that a try?
And if you’d rather avoid Full Site Editing and just switch to a theme with a built-in menu, let us know.

Thank you for your kind reply.
I think I should take your advise and switch to a theme with a built in menu.
(I did not realise I picked a theme that was more difficult for me than it had
to be.) I am sure you realised my web building skills are rather poor by
looking at my site!
Can you do this for me as intimated in your reply?
A theme that can show photos on a larger scale rather than one will lots
of little photos on a page would be my preference.
When the site is all tied together (ie, all links working properly/none of my current pages seem to link at all) then I will
publish it and of course start paying my sub to WordPress.* site and email should be…..stephen randonus photoart and not
stephen randonus photographic art as shown.I do hope you can help me to finalise my site. Thank you again for your
kind assistance.Stephen Rodgers

Hi Stephen,
Can you do this for me as intimated in your reply?
Do you mean switch a theme? You can do that from Appearance ->Themes in the dashboard. Scroll down until you reach Twenty Twenty-One:
All the themes from Twenty Twenty-One to Hever fully support the block editor, but they’re not built specifically for the full-site editing feature, so they’re simpler to set up, and with traditional menus.
A theme that can show photos on a larger scale rather than one will lots
of little photos on a page would be my preference. This doesn’t really depend so much on your theme. Some themes do showcase images, but you can use the image block with the full-width option to show big full-screen images in your posts on any of the themes I suggested above. You can also use the gallery block inside a post to show multiple smaller images, and when you then click on a single image it will open a full-size carousel to let someone scroll through the different images in the gallery:

If I’m misunderstanding what you meant, please let me know :)
