vCards – Cannot Upload vcf files
-
I am trying to add vcards to our WordPress.com site. I have tried using the “Upload Media” function, but when I try to select the vcd file, I am unable to do so. I fully admit I am not very tech savvy, so I would greatly appreciate a step-by-step walk through of how to add vcards to our site. THANK YOU!

Hi there!
We don’t support uploading vcf files.
The file types you’re allowed to upload to your WordPress.com Premium site are jpg, jpeg, png, gif, pdf, doc, ppt, odt, pptx, docx, pps, ppsx, xls, xlsx, key, mp3, m4a, wav, ogg, zip, ogv, mp4, m4v, mov, wmv, avi, mpg, 3gp, 3g2.
You can find this list at the top of the upload page in your Media Library.
Here’s some more information on accepted filetypes:

Thank you so much for your response. Is there an alternative way to provide our electronic/virtual business cards on our website? In the alternative, since vcf files are supported by WordPress.org, can we transfer our site from WordPress.com to WordPress.org?

Unfortunately, we don’t have a way to provide virtual business cards via your WordPress.com site.
If you’d like to transfer to a WordPress.org host, this guide will step you through the process of moving your site to a WordPress.org instance:

As we only support sites hosted here at WordPress.com, all issues with the new site – including the importing of the file – must be taken to the WordPress.org support community:
If you’d like assistance moving your WordPress.com site to WordPress.org, we have a service called Guided Transfer that does all the work for you. Check it out to see if its right for you:
