Venture Theme
-
I purchased the Venture theme, and want to use the it to create a site. When I apply it to my site I don’t see the templates to edit. Please help…

Accessing and editing templates is not possible here on this wordpress.COM multiuser blogging platform as all blogs wearing the same themes use the same underlying template found on the live demo site for the theme.

See here for details on purchasing the annually renewable Premium bundle http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/ that contains a custom design upgrade required for CSS editing:
Be sure you read Custom design – Frequently Asked Questions
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questionsDoes Customize let me edit HTML?
No. Customize allows you to edit fonts, colors, and CSS only. You can change the appearance of a theme, but not its HTML markup or PHP code. If you require this functionality, please consider moving your blog to a web host that supports theme code modifications. You can read more about why here http://support.wordpress.com/code/, and find a suitable host here. http://get.wp.com/hosting/http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/editing-css/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-fonts/
Note that once you have the required upgrade you can use this link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform so you can create a thread that will appear in the CSS Forum where you will get the help you need with CSS editing.
You can also post there prior to purchasing an upgrade to get an answer to whether or not what you want to do can be accomplished via CSS editing. -
I thought purchasing a theme would allow me to use those pages as templates and just change the images and content. What is the point of paying $125, when it just seems I’m building the page from scratch… better off using WIX templates at least they give you place holders and templates that are exact…

Yes, you can change the images on any theme here free or premium. In fact, that’s what you are expected to do.

The theme also has Custom Page Templates as you can see on the detailed theme description page where the set up instructions are found:

I see them on those pages, but how do I get them to apply to my page. When I apply the theme, I get a white page with an image in the center. i don’t see the full page image with the slider, white text menu at top, etc.
