Verification email missing – urgent as domain may be suspended!

    Hello.
    Our domain expired as the renewal email went to an old email address (I have since updated our email). Is now re-instated but there’s an issue – I need to verify our address through a verification email and it’s not arrived. I have re-sent the verification email but still nothing. I have checked my account settings and the email address there is the current one.

    I am worried that the domain will be suspended if I don’t verify our address soon and we’ll be back to square one – please help!

    Hello,
    I’ve just seen that the “old” registrant needs to ok the updated email contact details. If this is done via the email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) then it won’t be possible as that address no longer exists. Is it possible someone could call the registrant number to verify?

    Also, not had the email to the new address (which is correct).

    Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me with this query? I need to verify our address as a matter of urgency before our domain gets suspended but I’m unable to receive the verification emails as the email address you hold for the registrant is no longer in use. Is there an alternative way to verify? For example can you call the phone number provided during office hours?

  • Hi @dawnspowysdance, we’ll help you sort this out if we can. ICANN has made it trickier to update email addresses because people were losing their domains.

    First, did you get the email at the new address yet?

  • Also, is there any way you can possibly regain access to the old address? That is the best bet.

    Hello @Supernovia, thanks for getting back to me. I have now had the email to our new address, but unfortunately I can’t access the old address – it’s from when we were a dept of the local authority (we’ve since become an independent charity) and they have closed the address down.

    Should I still go ahead and complete part one of the verification by responding to the email at the new address?

    @supernovia this is the message I received – I followed the log in link but was unable to log in – used my WordPress login details but are these the wrong ones??

    By the way, I tried to create an account but once in, there weren’t any domains listed (and I tried creating an account with the old email address and the new one).

    Yes please, that’s the next step in this process.

  • @customfoamcreations are you able to check the address you originally entered (with .au )? That’s where the domain email is going, because that is the one you used during registration.

    wordpress seems to be having major issues today. I can not access my other blog either http://www.petitgardeners.com/welcome/

  • That other site isn’t hosted with us.

    You’ll need to go through the same email address update this other user did. Your domain is not suspended right now, so you’ll have some time.

    Start by updating the email address and confirming that; when that’s done let us know and we’ll email about getting any proof needed for the domain address change. Thanks!

    I have changed the email address and clicked the ‘resend verification email’ button numerous times now. Still nothing coming to my email. Petitgardeners is definitely with wordpress?

    Since you currently own a plan you should be able to chat with us. But basically you’ll need to update the email address _on the domain_ (not just the account email) and we’ll go from there.
