Verify email

    I have a gmail account and I want to forward the mail to my wordpress com and that mail to be a “post” I have produced a email address with wordpress com .
    when i set up the forwarding through gmail it asks to verify and a code is sent to th ewordpress com but it never seems to arrive I have tested wordpress email and it works fine but it wont accept a verification email form gmail any ideas anyone how i can verify th emeila sddress
