  We have instructions on how to link your site with Google’s Webmaster Tools here:

  Can you give that a try?

  thanks Jeremey, I already tried this and it is not helping. I still get an error message on my google + page. I am trying to link the site to a page rather than a google + profile. could they be different?

  It certainly could be different. I’m not entirely sure of the process for Google + pages. When are you receiving the error message? Are you able to complete the necessary steps under the Webmaster Tools verification at WordPress.com?
