verify yahoo
-
Hi,
I have a blog (somewhat new) that I am trying to verify. I am following the instructions listed here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
I have verified with Google and now I am trying to verify with Yahoo. I followed the instructions and when I cut and paste the meta code <meta name=’y_key’ content=’3236dee82aabe064′> (that is not my code but the example code from from the support page), it strips everything out except the last part (the numbers and letters).
I cut and pasted it, I typed it and still it’s stripped when I save on my dashboard. Consequently, Yahoo is unable to verify.
Any suggestions how to keep WP from stripping everything?
Thanks.

I saw your duplicate post and deleted it for you.
As for your question I recommend contacting staff to see if they can shed some light on why the verifying process isn’t working for you. here is their contact link http://support.wordpress.com/contact/

thanks for deleting the duplicate post. I contacted support. I’ll post here with their answer in case someone else runs across the same problem that I did.

Is easy to verified yahoo, u just add this code ( “/” )in last html code.
like this <meta name=’y_key’ content=’3236dee82aabe064’/> -
@balista002 Did you read the OP’s post above ? The OP stated that tishrei, tried that method and the code is being stripped out.

Update: Well, turns out I was doing it right the whole time — and support has been working with me. We were unable to figure out what was wrong — but all is well now.
For some odd reason, it just went through. I did not change anything, the stripped code was in there — I just happened to hit the ‘authenticate’ button and for some reason, it went through this time. The only thing that happened is I rebooted a few minutes ago. Apparently there was some glitch between Yahoo & WordPress and just took time for whatever was keeping Yahoo from reading the code on my blog to work itself out.
I don’t understand how my rebooting changed anything as I understand the service is between Yahoo and WordPress and my computer is simply the means to enter in the information. It probably was just coincidence that it worked this many hours later after rebooting.
Also, I found out that the code is supposed to be stripped out, according to support staff.
Anyway, thanks for trying to help me with this.
And thanks to Support Staff — they really are great in helping out and they are very quick in responding.
