Verifying domain name for Google apps

  I am trying to get Google Apps to verify my domain name. Google is asking me to add a TXT file to my domain server. I know how to get to the domain server, but when I paste the Google TXT file, I keep getting a message that there is something wrong with the formatting of this txt file. Can someone steer me to the instructions for how to make this step in the process work. The explanations for working in this domain issue are unclear on Google and on WordPress.

  You’ll need to use the CNAME method detailed at http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/google-apps-email/
