Verifying domain with Google webmaster using DNS TXT
-
I have tried to verify the domain with Google without success. It has been more than 96 hours now and come to the conclusion that this may be a waste of time and WordPress is waiting for me to upgrade before I get support. Verification is failing. To start with my domain was at least accessible by typing in the web address but I needed to get it available on Google search so I tried to verify it according to WordPress instructions . Since the the domain is not accessible anymore as the server is unavailable. My explanation maybe not as tech as some others but it seems that this is not an isolated issue as others on drums seem to have these issues. To get help seems almost impossible I guess unless you upgrade your plan !

you should not need to upgrade to verify with Google – but it is not required to verify your site – see below for search help
most of the support is through the forum – usually quick and accurate

Not all “WordPress” instructions are created equal

Hi there,
If you look at the instructions @auxclass linked for you, you’ll see that the best way to verify your site with Google is to use an HTML meta-tag which you then insert under Tools in the WP-Admin dashboard. Verification using this method happens instantly, if done right. TXT records are more for if you need to connect Google Apps email to your account.
That said, your domain is only a few weeks old, but it can take as long as two months for your site to start appearing in search results after a domain change. This is due to the way that search engines index “new” sites and there’s not much we can do about it. Verifying your site in Google’s Search Console helps, but it’s not a guarantee that your site will appear faster.
Note that as you have a paid upgrade you should always be able to contact us via the contact form on this page, and it appears that you have already done so as well.
