verifying domains
-
Hi Folks! Back in April 2020, I registered a family domain; I thought I had verified the email, but, after trying to log in, found the outdated link in my box. I cannot find any other email from WordPress re that or other domains. How do I (re)verify that domain? How do I find other domains I registered at the time?
Thanks so much and stay safe,
Jonathan Freund

Hi Jonathan,
What is the domain you want to verify? The WordPress.com account you’re using to post here has never bought any domains from us.

Hi kokkieh
Thanks for the swift response. I’ll admit I’m a neophyte and embarrassed about it… I purchased (I thought) 3 or 4 domains over a year ago, for myself and family–and then never got to the next steps. I know domains expire, but I thought I had them on auto-pay. One daughter is using hers and has a page up so one of them is working; I was looking to re-start the others, but when searching my emails using every possible term, including from other services, the only relevant one I found was from WordPress last April:
You are receiving this message because you recently registered or changed the contact information for one or more of the following domains: freund-family.com.
Your email has to be verified, etc., etc..
No surprise, the Verify Email link was dead and I got a page with “we can’t resend” suggesting I contact support.
It’s partially moot since just within the hour I bought a number of those domains I thought I had. Except:
The initial “freund-family.com” is unavailable and is showing a generic “something’s coming” page
and
my other daughter’s domain “gabriellafreund.com” returns an ICANN “This domain has been suspended” page.Even though I now have some alternates, I would like to follow up on those two.
Apologies if that’s confused and thanks for any advice.

Thanks for the details.
It seems like those three domains were purchased under a different account – you will want to log out and log back in using the same email address to which the purchase receipt was sent.
If you have problems with that, you can check out this page and fill out the Account Recovery form to regain access to the account:https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/.
That said, I have resent the verification emails for the suspended domains.
freund-family.com has already been verified, but it’s not associated with any site, there is no content on it (a domain is just an address), so it does not display anything right now.
Here’s a link with more information about domains:
https://wordpress.com/support/domains/.
I hope that helps :).

Thanks for that info and the link to more; I’m starting to get it. I have connected the domains I purchased yesterday to my promisingland account.
Here’s my confusion:
I don’t recall creating two accounts. Even if I did, I cannot find the receipts for my original purchases of freund-family.com or the others (I never delete emails and forward all my addresses to one account); yet I received that April 14 2020 verification email at the address
The email address we currently have on file is: j******(email visible only to moderators and staff).
it apparently was not registered to
you will want to log out and log back in using the same email address to which the purchase receipt was sent.
That verification email of April 14 is the oldest email I have from WordPress. And I have not received the newer verifications you sent this morning.
I thought I should mention that before I start the recovery process.
Thanks!
