Verifying my site with Pinterest and 2 other questions…
-
I want to verify my site with Pinterest, and when I grab the code on my Pinterest site it gives instructions for me to paste the code into the “HEAD” section of my website, which in this case is my WordPress blog. I don’t want a redirect. Simply put, Pinterest has a verification process (I’m sure you are aware) by which once the site you want people to go to FROM Pinterest is verified, a little green checkmark appears next to your site name, showing that it is verified. It’s a security measure on their end to help users feel more assured that they’re not going to click on a link and get a virus or something of that nature.
In this case on my Pinterest page, I have my WordPress blog’s URL listed underneath my name because I want to direct people TO my WordPress blog. I’ve looked into some of the other similar-type ‘answers’ you have here, and when you refer to the text editor and I follow those instructions to ‘edit’ my post I have the following issues: #1: When I go to Edit Post, and my editor opens up, it does not have the “Text” tab…it has “Visual” and “HTML” – it also does not have those tabs “Add Poll” “Add Contact Form” “Add Location.”
Secondly, I want to put links to my Pinterest site and a “LIKE” button for Facebook on my main page and need to be able to paste the code into the “HEAD” section for those as well.
I have one more question: When I pasted my WordPress URL into the News-feed area of my Facebook page to notify my friends of my blog, why does the header for my site NOT show up. When I paste a link into my own timeline, or even within a comment it will show a small ‘picture’ of the website. Does it take time in order for my blog to be ‘cataloged’ or something before it will show up? Do you even know what I mean with this question?
Do you have more Web Dev tools? Is the “Text” tab in the editor only available to Premium site owners?
Thanks I look forward to hearing from you soon!
