Verifying ownership of site – bing webmaster centre

Bing could not verify ownership of this site, tag not found before, make sure you place the verification tag with the correct verification. I looked it up and other people have been having the same problem. Steps are simple. 1. wordpress tools – available tools. 2. Paste meta tag in Bing webmaster Centre and Save changes. 3. on other page click verify. I don’t understand how it’s not working
