Vers 4.2.3 plays havoc with shortcodes
-
I have numerous WordPress sites and most of them are on automatic update. Normally that’s fine but with the release of 4.2.3 I’ve noticed WP is handling shortcodes differently. Or in some cases, not at all.
Is this a known problem… or is it a planned phase-out of the shortcode functionality? I would be grateful to know whether a fix will come (and if so, when) or whether its up to the plugin developers to find one.
At the moment I have 6 sites in particular which have been completely thrown by the 4.2.3 update so I’m facing the prospect of downgrading them manually back to the previous version. Any assurance you can give to prevent me going through that would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

We provide support here only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs. We do not provide support for WordPress.ORG software installs.
As those sites are not hosted here at WordPress.COM, our support docs are not relevant, and you are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
