Version 2.7: Where is the View Page link?
-
I just now opened up WordPress with the brand new version — exciting! Please please tell me, though: Where is the VIEW PAGE button? I see the VIEW POST link, but I have gotten into the habit of viewing the post as it is on the page that others see. Thank you.

Are you asking about the old “visit site” button?
Click on the title of your blog on top. -
I’m having the same issue – I can’t view my site from the dashboard either.
Overall – not really liking 2.7. This version is more functional but is not easy to navigate like the previous version.

@rambleicious, log out, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then log back in. When I click on my blog name to the right of the wordpress “w” logo, I’m taken to my main blog page.

Here is a couple of replies that will help you out.
Both replies have image reference
reply 2 explains what to do if the Title still doesn’t
show up after force reload.Teck,

No. When you are in “my dashboard” click the name of your blog on the top left.
Immediately after you log in, your blog name is on the top left.
It’s also there when you click “my dashboard.”
And when you edit or write a post.
Top left; I don’t see my blog name on the upper right at all?
May be that this will be complicated if folk don’t see the same things??? -

Ok.
Right.
On the left side of the screen, immediately to right of the wordpress “W”
the title of your blog takes you to a view of your blog.
grrrr.
too many lefts and rights -
Thank you for the answer…… I found it myself by clicking the blog title and wanted to return here to say “It’s Ok, I found it!” but too late! :-)
I have only been fiddling with this 2.7 for less than half an hour so it is all still wild stuff to me :-) but what I love is knowing that the crew here has been working on making things better for the bloggers. That is probably why WordPress is so popular.
Ok, Back to my blog now…

@lornakismet: Apart from the “Visit Site” turned ‘click title’ that 1tess mentioned, there’s also a PREVIEW button right under “Publish”, for both posts and pages, and there’s a “View” tab under post and page titles when you look at their list.

The “preview” is only available when you are writing a post or page, yes?
And now firefox is saying “Firefox prevented this site from opening a popup window.” … “Preferences”
(which I think I can change and allow, but that never happened before!) -
It did change when I actually tried to make a post. But now the “preview” loads in a new tab. Before, it opened in the new tab. Most likely related to settings on Firefox, but I did not change them.

pana…,
yes, in the editor. writing or editing, pre or post publishing.and call me just “tess”
the 1 was a stupit mistake that I made when setting up the blog.

What’s the solution to viewing your site (the old View Site button) if you’ve got a custom designed banner and do not load a blog name — the blog name is part of our designed banner? In that case, the blog name does not show up on the dashboard in white to click on. Is there another place to View your Site or Front Page? In other words, if you have a custom loaded banner, how do you view your site?
-
Teck07 and Rambleicious, thanks for the instructions! I can see the title now (must have deleted it at some point).
-
Well, you really shouldn’t remove your blog title just because you have a custom name. It’s a really bad idea for a lot of reasons. I don’t know how you get to the view site from the dashboard without it.
