  How do I know what version of WordPress I have?

  Hi there, I believe wordpress.com is using 2.5, but that doesn’t matter much.

  I’m assuming you’re asking because you want to use a plugin or theme you have come across? If so, I’m afraid that won’t be possible. Have a look at this thread for more information: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-read-me-first-before-posting?replies=1

  I can however tell you that most things from a blogging perspective are doable here, even if sometimes workarounds are needed.

  I believe wordpress, is already @ version 2.6.2

  WordPress.com is using a custom modification that includes some features not released for independent WP, so it’s relatively meaningless to talk about versions. Staff once told me that the plugins and features on WP.com can be about six months ahead of .org.

  raincoaster is right – to be honest, talk of versions is fairly irrelevant with WordPress.com.
