Add topic to favorites
I cannot find which version of WordPress I have. I does not appear anywhere! I would like to upgrade the the latest version, but cannot find where to do so.

Please help.

Staff do all upgrades on free hosted WordPress.com blogs like http://blazingportals.wordpress.com/ and we bloggers do nothing at all.

This platform is running on WordPress 3.5.1 and all upgrades to WordPress are up and running here a month before they are available to those using WordPress.ORG software.

I see. Thanks, I did not know that. What about pluggins? Are those only for paid accounts?

No, there is no upgrade here that will allow you to use plugins. Those are for WordPress.ORG blogs on paid, independent hosting.

Plugins after all are frequently overrated. Exactly what did you think you needed a plugin for please? You never know but we may have a widget or a workaround we can offer.

True, I’ve never needed a plugin before, and its not that important, but I just wanted to place emoticons in post replies.

You can enable them here > Settings > Writing at the very top of the page.

I do have that checked, but sometimes it just appears as if typed in.

That means you are inserting spaces where you shouldn’t.

I usually type them in :), and that does not seem to work, however, I typed it in :-) and that seemed to do the trick.

I have a question that relates (sort of). I’d love to have my latest pins displayed somewhere on the blog. Unfortunately, I can only find help on adding a “follow me on Pinterest” button. Am I asking the impossible? Would something like this require java, and that’s why it isn’t already in the forums? That or I have terrible forum searching skills…
