  Whatever you are reading does not apply to wordpress.COM hosted blogs like https://beautyinthebarrenness.wordpress.com/

  The only relevant support docs for that site are at http://support.wordpress.com

  Toss whatever you are reading away because it will only confuse you.

  WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  The version of WordPress software every wordpress.COM site runs on is the most recent one. Here Staff do all version upgrades for us users and they are done 1 month before they are released to wordpress.ORG users.
