Version Upgrade
-
Im somewhat new with wordpress, and am trying to upgrade from version 3.6 to 3.7 manually, but got confused with all the coding involved. Im looking at youtube videos and many of them use cPanel to upgrade. Do i need to make a database account in addition to my wordpress account for the version upgrade? Or which is the easiest way to upgrade?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please read this comparison so your do not confuse free hosted WordPress.COM blogs with WordPress.ORG software installs.
http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/Staff do all upgrades of WordPress.com software for us. We bloggers do nothing. There is no cpanel on free hosted WordPress.com blogs like http://valleryklaric.wordpress.com/

Do not rely on any videos you find online as they are for WordPress.ORG installs. The support documentation for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page.
You must be logged in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog settings to create XML export files for backup purposes.

thanks for the info time thief! good to know that huge difference between wordpress.org & wordpress.com .
One more question, I want to install a theme from themeforest.com. So i can only do this using wordpress.org right?

Yes. There is no upgrade you can purchase here that provides FTP access and the ability to upload plugins or third party themes. We can use only the themes provided here http://wordpress.com/themes/
