vertical alignment in table cells
-
Hello! I’m trying to create a new blog, which will present the set of rules of chess in a bilingular form (translation-original, side-by-side). The text shall be running parallely paragraph-wise; so I’m trying to do it with tables. I obviously expect to have some problems with the formatting of those tables, but for now I would like to know if there is a way to vertically align the text in the cells, so that the text begins at the top of each table row or if it is a matter of the theme’s (Garland) capabilities and I should change some other theme.
If anyone can assist in this, please don’t look at the starting page but at this test page:
http://chessrules.wordpress.com/toc/chessrules/rules03/There you can see this problem in its most exaggerated form at the left column, with the numbering of paragraphs.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes it’s possible (and nothing to do with the theme). Instead of
<td style
etc., write
<td valign="top" style
etc. -
