Vertical Response email sign up list code does not work in Text Widget

  I have the html code for the sign up, which I enter into the Text widget. The code works but does not allow for a box to sign up, or place to enter an email address (only shows a box that you cannot interact with.)

  I do not have the ability to use plugins. It looks like someone else had the same issue @ https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/failed-attempts-to-embed-html-code-into-text-widget-from-vertical-response?replies=4

  I do not know how to solve this issue– and Vertical Response support suggested I contact you all.

  As stated on the thread you mention, form code (i.e. with html “form” tags) gets stripped for security reason. The only option is to follow the recommendation to just publish a link to your subscription form.
