very confused with something that should be easy

    I have (I think) three different bluehost sites with two different ‘names’ for several years now and I really haven’t been able to do what i want. Basically I just want to do a blog, an anonymous one. If people know who it is I’m afraid it will color the way they see the things I’m writing about (and I may change this later on). I also, at least in the beginning, want to limit people from replying or narrow it down to certain people who can reply. Like I say I’ve gotten nowhere in the past few years and I really want to do this. If I need to pay someone to help me I can do that. Thanks.

    Could you share the URLs of the websites you are referring to? I’d like to verify that they’re hosted with BlueHost!

    If they certainly are, I suggest you make your inquiry at the WordPress.org forums:

    The WordPress.com forums exclusively supports WordPress.com websites, meaning we cannot assist you here.

    • WordPress.org is an open-source project that works on the WordPress software, and is what other hosting providers utilize (in this case, BlueHost).

    Hi there,

    To clarify, we are separate from Bluehost (they are also a provider of WordPress sites, but we are not connected with them directly) so you can definitely create an anonymous site here on WordPress.com if you want. No one would know the two accounts are connected. Additionally, you have complete control over what profile info is shown publicly, as explained here for extra privacy: https://wordpress.com/support/manage-my-profile/

    If I need to pay someone to help me I can do that.

    We do have a service that will set up a site for you for a nominal fee but also, what you describe sounds like something you could set up yourself. A few suggestions for where you can get started:

    My apologies for the tangent, but gosh darn it, Jerry! Your answers are always too beautiful! Whenever you or Kokkieh respond, it’s like watching a blue whale swim by and being reminded that I’m some some sort of sponge (are those even sentient?).
