Very slow today

Has anyone noticed that WordPress is slow now? I waited for over a minute after I clicked “edit” on a post before anything happened.

It’s rapid fire warp speed at my end so I’m wondering if the problem isn’t with your ISP.

Could be. We had a power outage last night, so perhaps they’re still recovering. However, other sites are much quicker.

Is anyone noticing some slowness today? My blog was loading very slowly, so I got rid of the Mapkit widget and that helped a great deal, but now I’m trying to post and I’m noticing a minimum three-second delay between when I hit a key and when that letter shows up. The more I type, the longer the delay. Is anyone else experiencing this?
It’s not happening in the forums. I was wondering if it might be something to do with the autosave.

No. I’m at warp speed. My blogs have no embeds I turned “snap” off long ago.
Edit: I just checked out the posting thing and don’t have any delay at all. -

First my blog stats disappeared. Then my feed stats. Now my audio players are gone from all my posts that had ’em….
What the heck’s going on?

The slowness I’m seeing now is all on the Dashboard side, and only when I’m trying to post. It’s a big delay, very annoying, and the Tiny MCE error where the box pops up again after you hit Insert is back. They must be tweaking something behind the scenes. Hopefully they’ll finish soon and it’ll come back.
Stats gone? ACK! Must check! Thank god for Sitemeter in the sidebar.

I’m using the standard editor and not Tiny MCE and I just made 2 posts without any difficulty or slow down. If you have posts you want to get up quickly, perhaps switching over to the standard editor temporarily may be helpful.

it was so bad that i couldn’t access the forums this morning (which was about 12 hours ago). i managed everything in my blog just fine though.

I agree, It is kinda slow right at the moment… must be peak time for blogging or it’s because of the weather here in the Northwest. *hehe* I thought maybe it was because of the half a million tags I use for my entries. LOL!
Anyhow, just letting you all know, it sometimes it a bit slow.

This is a stab in the dark. I believe this thread might become more useful if bloggers posting to it would provide information like raincoaster did
(1) are you on dial-up service or broadband
(2) do you have a lengthy front page with many embeds
(3) do other people using the same ISP experience the same problems at the same time? -
i couldn’t access the forums last night again, with was about 7 hours ago. i’m on dialup but this hasn’t ever been a problem, the forums usually load faster than it does for my own blog! i don’t know what are embeds so i doubt i have them. i don’t know who else with the same isp.

Posting is again very slow for me: I can type an entire paragraph before the first letter comes up in the box. I wondered if it was the new Mapkit widget, so I stripped that out, but it’s gone and I still see the slowdown. Anyone else experiencing that?
