Very slow upload

Over the last few weeks accessing any page on WordPress has been very slow. Today, I’m in the middle of a large post, and I cannot upload photos, everything I click takes so long I don’t know if the page has crashed or not.
I wondered if it was my internet connection – Malaysia is not the greatest – but all the other sites I usually connect to are fine.

I believe it’s the website. I keep trying to “search” for other people with this issue but, they all think it’s bc of their “godaddy” accounts and such. I don’t have that, I’m just a regular “free” wordpress user. All my other websites on my computer run fine. Why is wordpress moving so slow??
It’s making me nuts!

Hi there,
Yes connectivity can be an issue. The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers. How are you connecting to the onternet and to WordPress.com? Also which browser and version of it are you using please? -

Hello. OK, I connect to the internet using DSL broadband, through a wifi router. My brower is IE 9.
Connection to WordPress from my Android phone is fast and everything’s working correctly (using the WordPress widget for mobiles) but of course I’m limited what I can do.
Ironically, shortly after my post in this forum yesterday, connection improved a lot and I was able to upload photos and complete my post! Today connection is also good.
But I haven’t changed any of my settings, and for about two weeks previous to that, connection could sometimes be so slow that when (or if) any WordPress page loaded, the stylesheets were gone etc. Another example might be, clicking on “Freshly Pressed” would be a blank page except for the the footer links.
At first I thought WordPress was making some big modifications, and that it would sort itself out. (Maybe that’s just happened now?) But when things ground to a halt yesterday, I was compelled to ask for help here.
Like I said, I’m functioning at the moment. Thanks for your response.
