Very Unhappy with the New Editor

    I have been a client of wordpress for several years, and this is the first I have felt such a need to give negative feedback.

    I do not like the new block editor. Everything was fine before. Things were intuitive, fluid, and I felt comfortable making posts the way I wanted to. This new editor is clunky, and I feel myself disinterested in adding to my site.

    Having to justify the alignment of every paragraph now, where I used to be able to do so to the entire post. This merely adds extra steps. It is not an improvement.

    To add an image, I now need to type /image in the block editor and select ‘image’ from a sub-menu. I had to look online to find out what to type in the editor as /image is not even one of the suggested ones. This sort of knowledge is not intuitive. This adds extra steps. It is not an improvement.

    Captions under images are left aligned even though the image is center aligned.

    Whether or not these are bugs or new features, whether or not you can demonstrate to me the correct number and places to click to get it to work, this is not an “improvement”. It was working just fine before. Now it is not.

    Hi, just noting, The block editor resolves a lot of issues, but I do understand it’s brought up some new ones.

    If you use image and paragraph blocks most, the image block will show up in your frequently used block list when you add a new block.

    Captions under images are left aligned even though the image is center aligned.

    This is usually an issue with the way your theme is interacting with image blocks. Your theme has been retired for some time, so the fix may need to happen at the block level, but we’ll note the issue. Thanks.
