Very, very simple tutorial or video on block editor

  I’ve used my WordPress.com personal site for more than 12 years and always used the classic editor. My site has six pages and most of it is text with some pictures. I want to learn to do my 500-1,200 word blog posts with the block editor.

  I see there is a “classic” option when you + a block. That could be all I need. Do you think it will be around for a long time? Can I add pictures with this, too?

  My main question is, can anyone point me to a very, very simple tutorial or video that explains how to post with the block editor. I’ve tried before but get stymied trying to insert a long text in the first editing block. Thanks

  Hi there, kudos for the initiative! One quick question, though. Are you starting a new site using a block theme, or continuing to post on your current site which is using a retired theme?

  Do I need a new theme to use the block editor? If I could use the classic editor for the rest of my life, I would be happy. To do that I would have to upgrade my WordPress level so I could use the classic editor plug-in.
