Very wide auto margins under images with captions
-
When I insert photos with a caption into my latest post, WordPress now automatically inserts spacing below the caption of about 40-50 pixels. The extremely wide spacing under the caption does not appear in the editing mode but shows up in the preview mode.
That auto spacing It very awkward, and there seems to be nothing I can do about it. Even when I put zeros in the border and spacing boxes under the image editing Advanced Setting tab, you still get this 40-50 pixel wide, gray spacing under the caption. The only way to get rid of this unnecessary gray spacing is to just omit the caption. But that defeat the purpose of inserting picture.
An example of what I am describing can be seen in a draft of an upcoming post at

Also, I notice that border around the edge of my blog turned to become gray rather than white as it is supposed to be.
What are the CSS code that will return my background to while and rid the blog of the unwanted spacing under the captions?

Hi Walter, This will reduce the 24px border below the caption text to 5px. You can adjust that 5px value as you desire.
#content .wp-caption p.wp-caption-text { margin-bottom: 5px; }On the grey background color, you can change that by going to Appearance > Background and you can select white there for your background color.
