Hello, this site expired and I need to transfer it. Right now, I’m being told I can’t.

Transferring a domain that you allowed to expire and no longer own is not possible. You can ask Staff to try to recover the domain.

1. What is the domain URL?
2. What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
4. When was the upgrade purchased?

Ok, I need staff help to recover and transfer this domain.

Hi there,
veryloudyouth.org expired on 27 January.
That domain has already been removed from our system and is currently in redemption with our registrar. It is still possible for me to recover the domain at this point, but our registrar charges a $80 fee to restore a domain from redemption. I’ll need you to agree to that fee before I can get the recovery process started.

Ok. I somehow thought I had already successfully transferred the domain. Since I am trying to move it to hostgator. Is the only way to recover it through you guys?
What are my options?

After reading the above links, I will go ahead and pay. Can we start redemption process.

At the moment the only way is if we email the registrar to get it back, yes. In a few weeks they should release it, at which time you might be able to register it as a new domain, but there is a risk that someone else can buy it the moment it is released, so it’s safer to recover it.
If you want to proceed with the redemption, I’ve sent you a payment link via email. Once we receive your payment I’ll email our registrar to restore the domain.

We have received your payment and I’ve emailed our registrar to restore the domain. Hopefully they’ll still restore it before end of business in the US today, but it’s possible it might only be after the weekend. I’ll let you know as soon as they reply.
