Veteran workplace blogger has questions about creating a personal blog

I was one of several people contributing to WordPress blogs at my workplace. (Several blogs were on the same dashboard.) If I want to create a new, personal WordPress blog can I keep the same username and password, or should I / must I start all over, totally from scratch?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can create the personal blog under your workplace account.
So you don’t have to remember a different usename and password.Upgrades are per blog per year so you can buy upgrades separately for each blog.
You can also later move your blog to a different account, if need arises.
There may be some downsides as well but I can’t think of anything at the moment. Please feel free to ask if you have more questions.

Thank you, very much, chaitanyamsv. Can you also tell me if the control panel will work more or less the same way as it did for my work blog, or will that depend very much on the theme that I choose? In case you have any suggestions for themes, I will mostly be writing film reviews and I will want to add a new photo to each blog post, as opposed to leaving the same photo at the top of the blog all the time, as some people do. There are so many themes to choose from that it seems quite overwhelming to me.

Just be sure, I believe your work blogs are hosted on WordPress.com. In this case, Dashboard will be the same. You will just see a new personal blog alongside the existing work blogs at https://wordpress.com/sites
You can have different themes for all your blogs, work and personal blogs alike.
Theme selection is purely subjective. So nobody, other than you is the best person to know what would you like :-)
However you can:
– Use filters on http://theme.wordpress.com/ to filter the themes so you have only few themes to choose.
– There are some awesome film review blogs mentioned in this Daily Post blog: https://dailypost.wordpress.com/2013/02/20/film-blogs/
So perhaps you can take a look those blogs and see if you like some thing there. -
http://blogs.montrealgazette.com/ – is a WordPress.COM VIP blog – the Dashboard & functions will be almost the same – I doubt they let you have Admin rights – so you will have a few more options, but the writing part should be the same

yes that is the high priced spread :)
the top nav bar is a shade different from my view point (no “report content” option on the left side)
