You are able to embed videos from many other services for free, but in order to upload your own you will need a WordPress.com Premium or WordPress.com Business plan. Were you using videos from a service like YouTube or Vimeo?
More information on videos:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/ -
Yes, videos that I put on my blog came from Youtube and now it’s impossible to integrate this format…
How made without using the format wordpress Premium or WordPress Business plan ? -
All WordPress.com blogs come with 3 GB of space for uploaded files and images. If you have exhausted your free media storage space allopcation WordPress.com Premium https://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/ includes another 10 GB of extra storage, for a total of 13 GB. WordPress.com Business https://store.wordpress.com/plans/business/ includes unlimited storage space.
Both WordPress.com Premium and Business allow you to upload video, audio and zip files in addition to images. It’s not possible to upload these files without a subscription to one of these plans. http://support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/
Check how much space you have used here

* Replace NAME_OF_BLOG in the URL with your actual bolg’s name.

re: embedding videos
We embed videos into pages and posts and no upgrade is required unless or until you exceed your free media space allocation. https://en.support.wordpress.com/space-upgrade/The video embeds in posts and pages that WordPress.com supports for all of our blogs – no upgrade required are found here.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/Video shortcodes are here http://en.support.wordpress.com/shortcodes/#video
Note to post your own videos requires a videopress upgrade unless they are on youtube or another source site that is supported and the videopress support doc location is https://en.support.wordpress.com/videopress/ As a workaround, keep in mind that you can also upload your media to another service like youtube videos and insert it into your posts from there.
Example:
For youtube embedding into wordpress.COM blogs see here https://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/For using the shortcode see here https://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/#embedding-with-a-shortcode
For troubleshooting see here https://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/#troubleshooting
NOTE: If you are trying to embed a youtube channel code that will not work.

oops! I see a typo above and my spell checker isn’t working: allopcation was meant to be allocation.
