Video ads hijacking WordPress site
-
Could someone explain to me why this topic was closed to new posts, when no answer was ever given to us? The last I heard was that I needed to “sit tight” while WordPress was working on the problem. I first reported this issue on January 12. Sorry for opening a new thread, but I don’t know how else to draw your attention to the original request from a month ago.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Ah, ok.
I’ve gone back to investigate a bit further. It looks like video ads were disabled on intelnews.org back on January 12th. Is this an ongoing issue for the site?

Good morning. I am glad the videos were disabled. But I am still surprised that the previous thread was closed without any explanation and without anyone telling us what happened with our issue.
What was the problem? Was it the fault of WordPress, or was it some rogue advertiser? Has this problem been solved for good, or will we need to worry it might happen again? Is it something that our blog can defend against in the future?

I mistakenly closed the old thread. There wasn’t any mal intent on my part, just a mistake with that.
As for the ads, we’ve been tracking them down on an individual basis. There aren’t that many reports in the grand scheme of how many sites we have, so it’s tricky. Once we are able to track it down it’s disabled. That process in itself is difficult but we are working hard to avoid these issues in the future.

@lizkaroski, understood, and thank you for the clarification. As far as our site is concerned, please consider the matter closed. Thanks again.
