Hello I want to create my portfolio on WordPress. I ‘m a video journalist. When I embadded my videos from yutube the site gets really slow. How can I overcome this issu?

The problem appears especially when I’m loading video content.
What kind of connection should I have to be sure that it will work correctly?I have to create my own website portfolio and a lot of video from YouTube will need to be uploaded.
Could you provide technical support while I’m creating the site? I think I will aslo need some technical support to modify my template. I don’t really like the current one. In the future I may buy a domain, but I want to be sure of the template first. Thank you -

I did not have any problems loading the site myself. There doesn’t appear to be enough images on the site to cause loading issues. Is there a particular page on the site that is having this problem. I checked several of the pages without issue.
This could be a network issue. Have you tried to load your site from your phone or another network to see if the loading issues continue?
It also may a cache issue. Have you tried logging in using a different browser or clearing your browser’s cache?

So, you are referring to when you upload images? Because there shouldn’t be an issue when embedding links to YouTube because you’re technically not uploading anything to your site as the upload has already taken place over at YouTube.

Yes I’m referring to that when I embede the youtube link, every other action I do gets really really slow, so slow that I had to stop. And the youtube video in the back end comes on go, it doesn’t stay stable. What’s this?

What browser are you using? Also, does this happen when you’re on a different browser? If you have an option to try this on another network as well, I would just to see if it is still an issue.
Also, are you using the block editor or are you working from wp-admin?

I will try using wp-admin but at the moment I’m crating one single page, I just need to upload all my work:videos, articles, photos so I thought it was easier to use the block editor.
Do you know if there is a way with wordpress to create my site from skretch or I’m oblige to use a template?I would really like to be free to change the design.

With our business plan you could upload a third party or custom theme. Those details are on https://wordpress.com/pricing/
I don’t think such an upgrade is necessary though, based on what has been described in your last reply.
You could also try creating your pages but leaving out the media until you can get to a stronger/faster connection. The other thing to try, and what some are finding success with, is to try and upload media at odd times. With so many people at home, all day, the internet is bogged down in general. My advice is very early in the morning or late at night.

Is it necessary to go with a business plan to create a personalized template? Or can I start with the personal plan. Another thing, When I went to change the template, after I have already uploaded some content, all the content was removed from the back office, Is there a way I can recuperate such content?

Yes, you can start with a personal plan. I’m not sure what level of customization you’re looking for in the template. All of the themes that you can use with the personal plan are listed here: https://wordpress.com/themes/
