video background – ken burns

Hi there
I am new in wordpress trying to create a website. Was wondering if anyone could point me to that perfect theme for my website. Two primary features I am looking for is a full screen auto playing video background in the homepage, sth like this one.
And a ken burns style full screen sliding effect in the photo gallery, sth like this one.

Can someone recommend me any WordPress theme that would have these two features I have access to all the premium themes in WordPress. Thx guys.

Hi there,
There are no themes on WordPress.com that offer full-screen slideshows or video backgrounds.
The closest I can think of is Twenty-Seventeen, which has a large video header, but I don’t know of anything that can replicate that slideshow/gallery effect.

For what you want you’ll likely need a custom template or plugins. Those can only be used on self-hosted WordPress sites, or on the WordPress.com Business Plan, though I can’t tell you which theme/plugin you’ll need. The users in the self-hosted WordPress forums would be better able to advise you on that.

can we use audio and video controls on the twenty seventeen header video. also can you please send me a link to self hosted wordpress forum,,i couldn’t find it,,,,thx

From the Twenty Seventeen support document I linked to above:
The video will automatically play silently in the header area, and visitors will see a Play/Pause toggle button in the top right corner.
