Hi Lisa,
In order to help you, I’d like to get some more information.
1. What web browser and version are you using?
2. How big is the video you are trying to upload? There is a 1GB limit on videos. Also, screenshots are a huge help – can you please send a screenshot of the issue & error so we can better understand the issue? Please see http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ for information on making screenshots.
Thank you,

Hello again,
This problem sometimes doesn’t occur, and I’ve had a few weeks free of it; now suddenly it’s back: “An error has occurred in the upload. Please try again later.” Also, even when it works, the upload takes a very, very long time; it’s a fifteen-minute movie, and takes an hour or more to load. Today’s attempt involved 111.4 MB.
Here is the screenshot. What should I do about the repeated loading errors? How can I get these to load more quickly?

Hi Lisa,
I’m sorry you’re experiencing this issue again. I suspect there may be a problem with your internet connection, in particular your upload connection. Could you please go to:
Please run the test (click: Begin Test), let it run, it can take a few minutes to complete, and then let me know the following:
Ping time
Upload speed
Download speedWe will go from there. Unfortunately, I was not able to view the screenshot link you sent in your previous message. If you wouldn’t mind, could you please upload the screenshot directly to your media library on your site? I can view it from there.
Thanks,

Hi Lisa,
It looks like your connection isn’t strong enough to reliably upload files that large. At that upload speed, it would take well over an hour to upload even a 100mb movie. I would recommend either upgrading your home internet connection, or, if that’s not an option, finding a local coffee shop or co-working space where you can get an upload speed of at least 5Mbps, and trying your upload from there.
Thanks,

Hi, Becky,
So, I upgraded my home internet connection to 6.0 mg. I am still having trouble loading the 100mb movies I am making. Here are the current speediest stats:
Ping 325 ms
Download .79 mps
Upload .46 Mbps
How long should the upload be taking? what does it still so often say error, failed to upload? Thanks,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,
I’m sorry you’re still having trouble with this. The current speed stats that you sent me are much slower than what you are paying for. Your upload speed is what you’re really concerned about–and what you are showing now is less than you were getting when we originally talked about your uploading issues, which would be why you’re still getting the time-out error. It looks like your new connection is even slower than before you upgraded. You’ll need to contact your internet service provider and have them come out and take a look, because it sounds like there is an issue with your upgrade actually working, maybe an equipment issue? In order to reliably be able to upload your movies, you’ll want to be getting 2 – 3 mbps upload speeds.
Please let me know how else I can help.
Becky
