Video | Embedding video from VideoEgg

Does wordpress allow embedding of videos from youtube, google and ..motion only?

I have a couple of my entries (created prior to moving from Movable Type) with embedded video from VideoEgg.com. When I try to do the same in WordPress, I can only see the code and not the video.

Any workaround or is this a no-go?

I’m pretty sure those are the only formats that are allowed. Stuff like that is locked down pretty tight here for security reasons (and I like that).

I know next to nothing about videos and the like, but is it possible to upload them to one of the allowed services?

You can also send feedback to staff when it opens for the week and request that videoegg be added as supported format. Including reasons why will get you brownie points.

    Thanks katm,

I guess I can upload to you tube or google. Not really into dailymotion.
Will have to dig around for the original videos now, won’t I? :(

You may want to review the FAQ blog as those formats are covered in posts over there.

    Thanks Mike.

VideoEgg, which I posted about is not covered in the FAQs and subsequent ‘discussions’ I have read shows clearly that due to security reasons, only a handful of video sharing sites are compatible with wordpress. VideoEgg not being one of them. Not a biggie, ‘cept that I will need to upload again to one of the compatibles and embed into the entry.
