I see very little communication between gamers on wordpress, we should amp it up a little don’t you think?

This is not a social forum; it’s a technical help forum. Why don’t you leave comments on their blogs if you want more communication?
The ideas forum is for ideas for WordPress.com to incorporate, like new functions. You might try starting a thread in the Off Topic forum, but Club Penguiners have tried repeatedly and they just die out.

I agree with raincoaster. When it comes to creating blog traffic then commenting on gaming blogs is the best way to go. Although wordpress.com does not have forums for individuals catgeories of bloggers and probably never will – think of the numbers – you can set up a free forum on the nhet and then provide a link to it in your blog.
There are two other ways to locate gamers at wordpress.com.
(1) wordpress.com tag pages – http://wordpress.com/tags/gaming
(2) google search gamers site:wordpress.com

Participate in gaming forums and other gamer blogs and include your blog address as part of your profile. That will draw other gamers, including non-WordPress users, and they will possibly comment.
If you notice, a lot of us on here are “freeform” – we don’t cover a specific topic. Those that do focus on a topic don’t even have “communication” with similar bloggers. We communicate as bloggers in general — in the Off-Topic forum.
If you wish to have a forum for WordPress-only gaming bloggers, you will definitely want to set up your own hosting. GoDaddy.com even provides applications that can be installed with just a few clicks and parameters, so it’s relatively easy to get started. It’s drawing traffic that takes real work.
At any rate, as it has been said, the Off-Topic forum is where discussions such as this can be held. Maybe a moderator can move this there.
