video rich text editor

  I am trying to turn on the video rich text editor and have followed the instructions below, but the only thing I see on my “your profile” page is a box next to “Disable the visual editor when writing.” am i missing something??? thanks.

  [To turn the visual rich text editor on go here Dashboard -> Users -> Your Profile -> look for the checkbox to use the visual rich text editor -select it and click “Update Profile” to save. Now the instructions will work for you.]

  If that box is NOT selected the the visual editor is active. In the post or page editor you should see two tabs at the top right of the text area, visual and HTML. Select the Visual tab.

  i have read in the forums that if the “visual text editor” is ON, then you should be able to increase or decrease the size of your photos in the visual editor by just clicking on them. When I click on mine, it just highlights blue and gives me no way to expand the photo. Is this no longer a feature of the visual editor? thank you!

  It depends on what browser you are using as to whether the handles appear when the image is highlighted. Firefox shows the handles, and I think IE also, but Safari does not. With Safari, you can highlight the image, click on the image edit icon at the top left of the image and then select from the percentages to the left of the image to resize in 10% steps. One note, when you select one of the reductions, pull your mouse away directly to the left and then go down to the “update image” button otherwise the percentage reduction can change on you.

  You can also click on the “advanced options tab, change either the height OR width to what you want, then delete the value in the other box and it will resize the image proportionally to either the height or width that you entered.

  ok thanks. good to know there is a reason. yes, i’ve just figured out the other option of increasing/decreasing by 10%. thanks again! i’ve been racking my brain as to why my friend can do this but i can’t and she has firefox.
