Video – share or embed?

  Apologies if this is an obvious question but I’m very new to this and have searched the forums but can’t find an answer.

  My question is what is the difference between sharing a video and embedding it? I’ve found WordPress tutorials on how to do both, I just don’t understand what the difference is! I want to put in a link for a YouTube video which comes in 4 parts. On YouTube it offers the option to share (just the URL) or embed (lots of code plus the option to inlude related videos, which I guess would be the other 3 parts).

  Embed means you will have the YouTube video box on your site – visitors will view the video while still on your site

  Share will give you a link you can put on your site or email to friends – they click on the link and they will go to YouTube and see the video on the YouTube site.
