video to show in the post

  in my older blog with wordpress i could put a link for a YouTube video in the window of the post and when posted, the video window was in the message, but with this new blog i started all it shows is the link. how can have the vid showing up in the published message again?

  First, can you check to make sure the “Enable auto-embeds” option is checked on your Settings → Media page.

  If auto-embeds are enabled, can you try making sure the YouTube link is on its own line without any html surrounding it? Sometimes extra html is pasted in by mistake. You can check for that using the html editor.

  thanks for the reply. i made sure the auto-embeds are on, and there are no extra characters around or on the YouTube link and it is on an clear line. still not working. thoughts?

  Please check your post again in HTML mode, as in Visual mode you won’t be able to see the surrounding HTML tags.

  The YouTube URL has been pasted as a link, not just text, and this is the reason it does not work anymore.

  Please delete the and before and after the Youtube URL and the video should be embedded again.

  i am not sure what you’re trying to say. i’ll go with just linking the URL to a word. thanks anyway
