Video Upgrade
-
Hi,
Do you seriously mean that you have to pay USD60 in order to add a couple of videos each year?
Is there such thing as a sponsored upgrade if the writer who would like to add a video or two is 12 years old, sick in cancer, just amputated his leg and is just writing to hopefully be able to give some positive energy and guidance to kids and families in similar situations?
Thanks a lot in advance for your understanding and consideration.
Kind Regards,
Mum to Raz with the blog ‘I have Ewing Sarcoma’.

No but there’s nothing preventing anyone from getting a youtube account and uploading their own videos there. Once that is done then they can embed the videos on their blog using this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/

Embedding Youtube videos is a great option for a lot of people. It’s free, fast, and pretty universally accepted.
However, there are several advantages to paying for VideoPress, which allows you to host the videos directly your own WordPress.com site rather than have upload them to youtube or wherever. Some people prefer this option because there would be no ads, the traffic would all come to your site (if you host on youtube then people can just share the direct video link rather than the link to your site), you don’t have any cap on how long the video is, and although you have to have enough storage space for the video file itself, you wouldn’t have to worry about bandwidth, which can be significant if you have a lot of viewers.

If the writer is 12 years old he is in violation of the Terms of Service, which state you must be at least 13.
Besides, you’re going to get a LOT more traction for your videos if you put them on YouTube.
