VideoPress
-
Hi
We’re trying to integrate VideoPress into a self-hosted WordPress site.
Depending on where we look, we are seeing different options – so just need a definitive answer as to how much we have to pay, how we do so – and then how we integrate into the site.
We’ve signed up for WP.com, and have JetPack installed on the self-hosted site in question.
We did see that VP was $60 that allowed unlimited videos up to 1GB each in size, but when trying to set it up from JetPack, it took us to a pricing page which seems to only allow us to sign up for an entire WP.com blog.
Could you please provide the exact steps and costs?
Thanks in advance
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, thanks Galois but that doesn’t really answer the question.
We are aware of how to purchase the item, however VideoPress says one pricing, yet you are diverted to a generic WordPress subscription page with two completely different prices listed. What I am trying to discover is a difinitive answer as to how much VidePress should cost, whether it is a standalone item or must be bought as part of a WP blog subscription.
Many thanks.

Hi there!
You should only have to pay for VideoPress once at WordPress.com:
https://store.wordpress.com/premium-upgrades/videopress/Then, you’ll activate VideoPress in your Jetpack plugin. Once activated, you’ll configure the module by connecting it to the WordPress.com site on which you’ve added VideoPress.
To add VideoPress to your WordPress.com site, you can do that here:
https://classroommonitor1.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.phpJust make sure that’s the same site to which you connect your self-hosted Jetpack site.
I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

Sorry, I just don’t get it. If I go to https://store.wordpress.com/premium-upgrades/videopress/ and hiy ‘Get VideoPress’ I am sent to https://wordpress.com/plans/90474725 whereby my options are to pay £85 or £250. How can this be so difficult to pay for a plugin?!

Hey there,
I’m going to send you a private email with a link so you can make your purchase via a manual billing request.
Keep an eye out — you’ll receive that note in the next 15 minutes. Thanks!

Thanks for this – sorry for the delay, the email ended it up in a spam folder. Paid – if you can connect this up for me and let me know through this forum I’d be very grateful.
Many thanks,
CM

Hi there!
Thanks for the follow up! Once again, I’ll be sending you a private email.
All the best to you.

Hi there,
Thanks for this. Can you send an email or a forum post on connecting this to our self hosted website? If I click ‘Configure VideoPress’ from the WP Admin panel in our self hosted website, there are no options, as if nothing is connected yet.
Any help appreciated. Please reply here when emailed too – you are still heading into my junk folder :/
Many thanks,
CM

Hey there!
Here is what is causing the trouble: you have two user accounts on your site that have connected Jetpack. The primary connection for the Jetpack site is “classroommonitor” and the upgrade is under “classroommonitor1.”
You need to disconnect both users. Then, re-connect the classroommonitor1 account first. After you do this, your VideoPress option should be visible.
That should do the trick, but if you have any additional issues at all, I’m going to send you straight to our Jetpack support: http://jetpack.me/contact-support
You’ll get specialized Jetpack assistance from that crew :)
Let me know how this works out! Cheers!
