VideoPress upgrade expires in 8 days and there is no 'renew now' button

  • Unknown's avatar

It seems strange that in order to renew an upgrade that is expiring, that a blog administrator (that didn’t purchase it originally) would not be able to renew it.

I have searched through the help forums, but the ‘renew now’ button is not displaying, so I cannot pay for our VideoPress upgrade.

Has anyone come across this before? Do I need to repurchase from the Videopress site? http://videopress.com/ For the record, no renew now or autorenew buttons come up for me – or the person who purchased the upgrade.

    Thanks for your help!

It’s very common. Only the person who purchased an upgrade can renew it. I flagged this for staff to sort out.

Ah OK, thank you. That’s strange as it wasn’t easily searchable in help topics.

I will double-check with the person who purchased this – perhaps it wasn’t them who purchased the upgrade after all!

  • Hi there! I can see that the blog owner, “riafinancialblog”, purchased all the upgrades on your blog. Can you please ask him to login to renew the VideoPress upgrade? Thanks!

Hi, unfortunately this is not possible as this person (not a him) is no longer with the company.

  • Hi there!

I’ve gone ahead and created a manual payment request to allow you to pay for the VideoPress upgrade renewal:

    https://manualpayments.wordpress.com/?u=813e571595

The total is $60 for the cost of VideoPress. Once that’s taken care of, I’ll gladly extend the upgrade for another year.

unfortunately this is not possible as this person (not a him) is no longer with the company.

I’m sorry to hear that riafinancialblog is no longer with your company. Since all the upgrades were purchased by that user, you’ll pretty much have similar difficulties renewing them in the future.

What I can do is transfer the VideoPress and Custom Design upgrades to you. However, for me to transfer the domain upgrades, it’s our standard policy to first ask riafinancialblog’s permission. Should she not answer back in 10 business days, I’ll take it that she doesn’t want the domain and I’d be happy to transfer it to your account as well. Does that sound good?

    Let me know. Thanks!

  • Hello again!

It’s been about 10 days since I contacted “riafinancialblog” regarding the transfer of upgrades but haven’t heard from her. Because of this, I’ve gone ahead and transferred all the upgrades (including the domain) under her account to yours. You should be able to see these upgrades from Store -> My Upgrades in your admin panel and be able to renew them when needed:

    http://riafinancialblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades

Please let me know if everything is good or if there’s anything else I can do to help.

    Best wishes!

Hello, thank you for your help but no. I would strongly have preferred that you did not transfer them to my name as I do not have purchasing rights.

I believe that the name which needs to have the access to this is “riafinancial” as this is the person with the authority.

    Can you do this?

All the upgrades are now transferred to “riafinancial”. :) Cheers!
