Videopress videos don't play on iPad

  In the absence of the support page, I thought i’d post on this forum instead, hope that’s ok.

  I have a self hosted blog at http://www.greatphotographytips.co.uk and recently purchased a VideoPress subscription.

  According to this page here, videos should play on the iPad, but although everything else is working fine, the videos refuse to play on my iPad:-

  I read on another post that the embed sharing setting needs to be switched on, but this is not an option for me as I want my videos to remain private.

  Is there any way around this problem, if not are there any future plans to allow videos to play on the iPad without having to share them with the world?

  Thanks, but that’s where I saw the information about sharing the videos, so no it doesn’t help.

  I guess I need a definitive answer from support before my 30 day VideoPress day trail runs out.

  @bernieraffe, what you originally posted is correct. If you disable sharing for videos, the Flash player is used and the videos will not work on an iPad. There’s not a way around that right now.

  If you want to use VideoPress with the iPad, you need to make sure the sharing option is checked for the videos.

  No way round it? Well not using VideoPress, sure.

  But there are many videos online which play perfectly well on my iPad, and which are not shared.

  Why can’t VideoPress do the same?

  I’ve been working with Paolo, another Happiness Engineer for over 2 weeks now on this very issue and he’s verified that this is not resolved by simply sharing the videos. There are many cases, mine included, where shared videos do not play on the iPad either. I don’t know if this is an encoding issue or what but this is not solely a shared file issue. I suggest you take a look on your own ticket #823563 and see what’s up.

  Sadly, I paid for Videopress only to run into this issue. So close.
